The Lead Hand Only: John Daly’s Warm-Up

John Daly is said to hold a beer in his trail hand while he chips one-handed to warm up. Once he feels his lead side syncing up with the face, he goes and plays.
He doesn’t bother hitting full shots to warm up.
Here, I’m shot-shaping with the lead hand, but what you don’t see is that I still set the trail-side joints first, then pressurize the lead side. This fits perfectly within the framework I’ve been presenting in these demonstration videos.
What you see and what’s actually happening can be two very different things in golf. If you try to use only your lead side and ignore your trail side entirely, you won’t be able to shape shots. You will be steep, lose control of path, and have no hope with low point control.
